What Is Zalgo Text?
Zalgo text (also called glitch text or cursed text) stacks dozens of Unicode combining diacritical marks above, through and below ordinary letters. The result looks corrupted — H̸̛̹e̵̘͐ ̷c̶̣͝o̶̘͑m̷̻̈e̸̮͌s̵̳͑ — and became an internet horror-culture icon.
l̶i̷g̸h̶t̷ · m̴̪̈é̵̻d̷̙͝ï̶̼u̸̮͌m̵̳͑ · ḧ̸̢̛̭́ë̵̘́a̶̼̽͝v̷̻̈̈y̸̮͌͝Three Intensity Levels
- Light glitch — a subtle flicker; still fully readable.
- Medium glitch — visibly corrupted while keeping the words clear.
- Heavy Zalgo — maximum chaos with marks spilling into neighbouring lines.
Uses (and a Friendly Warning)
Zalgo is perfect for Halloween posts, horror ARGs, creepypasta stories, glitch-art usernames and dramatic Discord messages. Note that some platforms trim or limit combining marks — if a site rejects heavy Zalgo, step down to medium or light. Every click of the copy button generates a fresh random corruption, so no two casts of the curse are identical.
